The Kutetsha Research Camp is a recently founded organization that strives to give students and volunteers an exclusive experience in the African bush and provides unique research opportunities. We are situated within the UNESCO Vhembe Biosphere Reserve, in the western Soutpansberg mountain range. The property is part of the Luvhondo Private Nature Reserve.
The Research Camp lies in a valley far up the mountains surrounded by beautiful forest and with a natural stream (the Kutetsha) going through the area. The area is furthermore famous for its high biodiversity. You will find breathtaking landscapes and lots of wildlife encounters are guaranteed. The mountains offer exciting hiking trails and many opportunities to explore South Africa further.
The Research Camp is managed by Dr. Sina Weier, who did a PhD at the University of Venda on bats in an agroecological landscape and obtained her MSc in Management and Conservation of Protected Areas at Edinburgh Napier University.
